BIO
Daniel Cabrera (aka Dani Cabs) is an actor, emcee and
physical comedian/clown based in Brisbane,
Australia. He has performed original work in
numerous comedy and arts festivals, such as
Adelaide Fringe, Melbourne International Comedy
Festival and Edinburgh Fringe and has appeared on
Australian TVCs.
He has trained with La Boite Theatre
(Brisbane) and in various forms of clown and
physical comedy/theatre with award-winning
physical comedian Dr. Brown (Phillip Burgers, L.A),
Anna Yen (Brisbane) and Danielle Cresp
(Melbourne).
Starting out as a self trained clown in 2014, Dani
created two solo shows that toured Australia, the
latter, Poncho Orange, is an ongoing project.
In mid
2016 Dani started to reach out to fellow artists and
look for ways to collaborate, leading to roving
performances at Jungle Love Festival, emcee of a two hour cabaret for Sydney based Plastik
Soup at Lost Paradise Festival, the making of his third
fringe show, a duo with fellow clown Barnie Duncan
called Weekend at Barnie's and most recently part of Debase Productions roving troupe "The SQUAD" for Festival 2018/Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.
Dani is now a regular dancer and facilitator with Guru Dudu's Silent Disco Walking Tours, and Bring a Plate Dance - taking dance to the streets and engaging and allowing everyday people to become stars.
Dani's passion is play, he hopes that through clowning, roving, and performance he'll be able to reach out to audiences and encourage them to find their inner child and play along with him and/or whatever team he is a part of at the time.
